Best of Tech Awards
NEOSA is proud to recognize outstanding companies and impressive tech entrepreneurs in this region by presenting the annual Best of Tech Awards.
Recognizing great companies and leaders helps us promote this region as an awesome place to live and work, where cool companies are doing great things.
For the 2008 Awards, we received almost 70 nominations across the categories.
Our 2008 program featured networking, dinner, a lively keynote by Robert Cringely, CoolTech Challenge scholarshp winners and the Best of Tech Awards.
About the keynote: Like most overnight sensations, Robert Cringely spent more than 20 years working to become the nerd he is today. Robert Cringely, a best-selling author, columnist, futurist, and PBS personality was the 12th employee at Apple Computer back in 1977. His 1992 national best-seller Accidental Empires: How the Boys of Silicon Valley Make Their Millions, Battle Foreign Competition and Still Can't Get a Date became the basis for Triumph of the Nerds, the highly acclaimed, three-hour miniseries that was a runaway success for PBS. For the last 11 years Cringely has written a weekly column on PBS Interactive and his work has also appeared in The New York Times, Newsweek, Forbes, Upside, Success, Worth, and many other magazines and newspapers.
